The Key Club dominates because it
features the classy structure and acoustics of the
Viper Room with way more capacity and variety than
any other club on the strip. The main floor
features an expansive stage with a lowered dance
floor in front and stage level floor in the back
for optimal viewing of bands, djs, and go-go
dancers. The main room also has an enormous two
level balcony that stretches around most of the
club. The balcony features a complete dining area
and full bar with booths, tables, and chairs
positioned to give a full view of the stage
Underneath the main dance floor is a bottom level
that features the VIP room. The Key Club's
entertainment schedule features a mix of live
bands and dancing, often having both on the same
night by doing early concerts. Though generally 21
and up, the Key Club does do a large number of all
ages punk and hardcore shows, which gives more
dimension to the otherwise upscale clientele.
Friday is "Cloud Nine," where DJs spin
house. Saturday is the biggest night for the club
with "God's Kitchen," where DJs spin
speed-garage and house. Make sure you arrive extra
early for "God's Kitchen" because it
reaches capacity every week.
From the 101, exit Sunset Blvd.
and head west about 5 miles. The Key Club is on
the right.
